Above Average Candle Studio is Chicago's Top  Reviewed DIY/Crafting Experience with  over 500+ Perfect 5 Star Reviews. We've hosted over 3k+ at our cozy garden level North Park location. We are a premiere destination for Date Nights, Birthdays, Bridal Showers, Team Building , Family Outings and much more! We believe unique experiences are for everyone (and we do mean EVERYONE).  Inclusion and Diversity matters in all that we do.

MEET THE FOUNDER

Above Average Studio Is A Proud Woman Owned BIPOC Business

 A true lover of fragrance, Ogi Merzier-Emiabata launched Above Average Candle Studio in 2021 with the goal of creating connections to help heal others (and herself) after the world wide pandemic. A previous retail Area Manager/Store Manager for fragrance brands giants, Bath & Body Works and UK Based The Body Shop, Merzier-Emiabata is a certified perfumer, artist and established entrepreneur. A lifelong Chicagoan, hailing from the city's East Garfield Park neighborhood, she was one of the first to open a hands on candle making experience in Chicago. Featured on WGN Channel 9 News, WTTW'S Black Voices Tonight and The Roku Channel's/CBS'S Destination Chicago, she has big plans for her company More Than Average LLC  which includes creating scentsational experiences all across the world!  Her and her team are looking forward

Return and Refund Policy

We're EXCITED to create special moments and memories with YOU! 

To ensure the experience meets our standards and lives up to your expectations, we'd like to be transparent in reference to our studio policies.  

  • All Sales Are Final - There are NO REFUNDS. If you can not attend the class for any reason, we will offer you a class credit. You will have one calendar year to redeem the credit. The credit is transferrable and can be applied to different class experiences. 
  • Please Arrive On Time - We are FIRM on starting the class on time. If you are late, you can reschedule your experience. You will have one calendar year to reschedule. Please do not attempt to enter the class, doing so will disrupt the vibe for the participants who arrived on time.
  • We will issue you a discount or complete refund if we have to cancel your class in the method of original payment. Please allow 5-7  business day for refund.
